Well hello. A bit about who I am. I currently live in Chicago via Boston, Nashville, Chicago (the first time) and Los Angeles.
Economics and Finance
I am a macro analyst for StreetAccount, a business intelligence service for equity investors, where I write about the intersection of economics, politics, and finance. I am a CFA charterholder, and have worked in/studied/written about finance and economics for over 12 years.
Data Analysis and Business Intelligence
I was previously a data analyst in the fintech space, with experience using Python, SQL, and R.
My time in marketing analytics allowed me to:
-Create new products
-Build strategies to address key business objectives including customer engagement and conversions
-Offer clear, actionable, data-based insights across the organization*
However, I still enjoy tearing through datasets in my free time: finding interesting trends in equity markets, pulling out insights from business data or from scraping websites, trying to figure out which starting pitcher in baseball will take a leap to the next level.
As Sherlock Holmes said…
It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts.
I have also helped build digital marketing strategies for companies from startups to established technology businesses.
Whatever the goal, it always come back to data-driven decision making.
In addition to writing, I also have experience with video editing, web design and optimization, and working with product teams.
